This is a common question that many Canadians have been asking since 2020 as many Canadian providers have renamed the CPR program to basic life support (BLS). That said, the difference between the two courses is incredibly subtle. Each provider has added a little twist to the program as it isn’t different than the CPR level for Health Care Provider. The course content is the same, the use of bag-valve masks is the same and the use of a trained bystander is also the same.
It doesn’t matter whether the course is called CPR HCP or BLS you’re essentially getting the same CPR training. Both courses include training in the use of automated external defibrillators (AED’s). Register for a course today and get certified and the knowledge to help safe a life.
